Aligned with the wooden groin north of Main Street.

I believe that the groin was shortened by the USACE. Its shortened remains in the beach are often buried under the beach nourishment sand and are sometimes hard to find—as seen in the photos at right.

The photos at right were taken later in 2007.

Top pair: Set 11 photos from Site E in 1997 (above) and 2003 (below). Note how the light poles match from year to year because they are unchanged since 1992-1993. Some significant redevelopment occurred in the intervening years. A large new house with a dark roof is at right in 2003 and it has a distinctive chimney with light gray siding going up the north side of the house. Five light poles are visible. From left to right, pole #2 is the one partially hidden by the Brielle Road bathrooms; see how pole #4 appears to arch over another type of pole; and in the bottom 2003 photo, pole #5 is in front of the dormer in the large new house and appears to arch over the chimney.

Upper middle set of six: top row is L-R 1997, 2003, 2006; bottom row is L-R 2007, 2008, 2010. Getting light pole #4 from above to arch over whatever that other pole is, was the way to reoccupy the photography point, having pole #5 arch over that chimney ensured that I was in the right spot. Didn't do so well with the chimney in 2007, oh well, close enough. Because the very top of the chimney is still visible, in 2008 I didn't notice that a new house had been built to the north of the benchmark house with the chimney. I did notice it in 2010.
